Dressage,
at its most basic level, entails developing an obedient
and responsive horse. It is the first stage of training for any
discipline. But it is also the most demanding Olympic
discipline, requiring years of training for both horse and rider aiming
for Grand Prix
level.
The
principles date back to the ancient Greeks - but modern dressage started
its development during the Renaissance and developed from a circus-type
performance.
