Horseball is a cross between rugby and basketball but on horseback - the
players pass the ball to each other as they race towards the goal and a
player must not keep the ball for more than 10 seconds. There are
two teams with six players per team, but only four players are on the
pitch at the same time. The ball must be
passed at least three times between three different players and no
player can hold the ball for more than ten seconds.
The ball is the size of a
small football, in a leather harness with six handles. The pitch
measures 70 metres by 30 metres so, although play can be very fast,
expert control is essential. |
